We’re seeking motivated and driven remote backend software engineers to work on our data-layer and data ingestion platform. We value product-focused engineers that thrive by wrangling complex problems into simple solutions.
As a Data Engineer you will:
- Have no less than three years experience coding in one of: Python, JavaScript/Typescript, C++, C#, or other similar language
- Have experience with object oriented concepts and object oriented language constructs
- Adhere to software system best practices to ensure functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability
- Satisfy functional and non-functional requirements of downstream and upstream teams
- Design, implement, test, document, and maintain ETL/Integration software systems
- Monitor, version, and ensure the quality of data from each data source
- Provide data interfaces to core data structures for internal and external applications
- Monitor, version, and facilitate data changes conducted by our teams
- Provide technical guidance for all proposed, existing, and deprecated software systems to ensure adherence to software system best practices
- Participate in your team’s on-call rotation, including team meetings, triage sessions, and addressing production issues as they arise, etc.
We are looking for people who have:
- A detail oriented personality
- Backend software engineer experience with a proven track record of architecting, implementing, optimizing, deploying, and maintaining ETL solutions.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Javascript
- Familiarity with commercial ETL or similar Integration tools
- Proficiency with relational databases (similar to Postgres, Oracle, or SQL Server) and SQL (both Data Manipulation Language and Data Definition Language).
- Familiarity with Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, and other such specification documents.
- The ability to rapidly prototype and adjust in response to customer feedback
- Experience in communicating with customers to collect requirements and describe software features
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Kubernetes
- Working on a data driven product backed by Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence
- Experience with HL7
- Experience with Cloud Providers
- Working as an engineer in healthcare, or in highly regulated industries that require strict data privacy regulations
Compensation will be competitive to the market and will consist of cash as well as benefits. We are currently a remote team and plan to continue working remotely.
